Abstract

Various components of a circular knitting machine are operated under fluid pressure, in particular air pressure by being coupled to a manifold provided with valves adapted to be opened or closed under the influence of a cam drum of the machine. Consequently rotation of the cam drum causes the valves to open or close and permit air under pressure to operate the yarn guides, project needle cams or operate a lubricator whereby atomised lubricant is sprayed on the needle stems.
