[Also in Group XXVIII] In cam mechanism, particularly for fuel injection pumps, wherein a spring-loaded face cam 4 coacting with cylindrcal rollers 2 has an annular cam track with at least one apex 7, the sharp edge 8 at the radially inner side of each apex is removed by grinding a flat 9 thereon to provide clearance, thereby avoiding the development of excessive specific pressure in the cam material. The radial width of the cam track is thus reduced at the apex.
