Abstract

1342407 Lift trucks BYGG-OCH TRANSPORTEKONOMI (BT) AB 29 June 1971 [1 July 1970] 30468/71 Heading B8H A lift truck comprises a mast 8, load carriage having a pair of forks 9, an hydraulic lifting ram 5 operatively connected to effect movement of the forks 9, the hydraulic system which includes the ram 5 including pre-set and adjustable pressure regulating valves 3, 7, Fig. 3, which control the pressure in the cylinder 5 and thus the lift capacity of the lift truck. Up to a certain point on the mast 8 the pre-set valve 3 controls the supply of oil from a tank 6 to the ram 5, the load capacity being constant up to that point, at which point the adjustable valve Y takes over and decreases the lift capacity linearly, the said valve being adjusted by means of a wire 10 connected thereto and to the load carriage at 11. In a second embodiment of the hydraulic system for the lift truck, Fig. 5 (not shown), three fixedly set pressure regulating valves (20), (21), (22) are arranged in parallel and have supply conduits provided with electrically controlled stop valves (17), (18), (19) respectively which are normally shut-off when a pre-set valve (3) controls the pressure to the lifting ram, but are opened when the load carriage reaches heights (h17), (h18), (h19), Fig. 6 (not shown), the opening being effected by means of limit switches (not shown) placed on the mast. The pressure in the lifting ram is thus reduced from a maximum pressure (Pmax), which prevails therein when the valve (3) is operating, to a minimum pressure (P22) which is the pressure to which the valve (22) is set, when the load carriage reaches its highest point on the mast.
