Abstract

1337154 Luffing boom apparatus SIMON ENG DUDLEY Ltd 24 July 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 38181/71 Heading B8H A vehicle (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), has mounted thereon a turntable (11) on which a first boom 12 is pivotally mounted, a second boom 14 being pivotally connected at 15 to the boom 12, these being ladders 19, 20 pivotally mounted to, and extending on opposite sides respectively of said pair of booms and a landing 22 is pivotally connected to the boom 12 at 15 and is maintained horizontally disposed throughout angular movement of the boom 12 relative to the turntable (11) by means of a rod 23 which is pivotally connected at (24) to the said landing and extends to and is pivotally connected to the turntable (11). A platform 16 is pivotally connected to the free end of the boom 14 and, by means of a further rod (26), is maintained level for any position of the booms 12 and 14. The ladders 19, 20 are rotatable relative to their respective booms from their operative positions, Fig. 2, to a stowed condition, Fig. 4 (not shown).
