Abstract

1320490 Caps for bottles WICANDERS KORKFABRIKER AB 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26923/71 Heading B8T A bottle cap has a tear-tab 3 and lines of weakness 4. Beneath the upper portion 2 of the cap is a disc-like seal (5), Fig. 1 (not shown), which is glued to the underside of the cap in the area 7 having the line 8 as a boundary. The seal (5) may be sprayed on to the underside of the cap but, again, it is only firmly adhered over the area 7. When the tab is pulled, the cap is torn along the lines 4, leaving the seal intact, until the line 8 is reached. Further pulling of the tab serves to remove the cap, with its seal, from the bottle. A secure grip is facilitated by the impressions 6, and the ribs 9, which extend up the skirt 1 of the cap, are for reinforcing purposes to ensure that the cap tears along lines 4 and not elsewhere.
