Abstract

1318210 Brake relay valves CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 26 May 1971 [5 June 1970] 27302/70 Heading F2F A relay valve for use in a tractor-trailer air pressure braking system having service and emergency lines comprises a housing 1, pistons 2, 3 responsive to signal pressures from the tractor brake valve, an inlet port 16 connected in use to the tractor reservoir, a valve 10 operable on displacement of the pistons to connect the inlet port to the trailer service line via a port 15, a further connection from the inlet port to the trailer emergency line and a spring-loaded valve 19 operable to close off the inlet port when the pressure in the reservoir line thereto falls below a predetermined value due for example to trailer break away.
