1316295 Power steering DAIMLER-BENZ A G 6 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 19681/72 Divided out of 1316293 Heading B7H In a power assisted vehicle steering system having a steering nut 413 rotatable but not axially displaceable in a cavity in a piston 412 and engageable with an axially fixed worm 415 with a rocker shaft 417 in driving connection with the piston and a control slide valve 421 co-operating with the nut 413, the worm 415 is supported in the end face 471 of the housing 410 and a central opening 472 in the piston 412 is sealed by a screw cover 473. A cavity 428 passing through piston 412 accommodates the nut 413 which has a finger 435 for operating the valve 421. The worm 415 is supported in the piston 412 at its end remote from the shaft bearing in the end face 471, by way of a ball circuit 414, the nut and an oblique contact bearing 413a.
