Abstract

1296884 Vehicle door mounting REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 9 March 1970 [10 March 1969] 11265/70 Heading E2M A vehicle door 1, slidable along arid pivotal about a shaft 4 perpendicular to the door, is connected to a ring 16 slidable on but rotatably rigid with a sleeve 13, the sleeve being rotatable about but axially fixed on the shaft, the door being operated by a series of levers 22, 24, 29, 31 pivotally connected to the door at 33, the ring at 18 and a plate 27 at 25, the plate being rigid with the sleeve 13, and a spiral counterbalance spring 38 being connected between the shaft 4 and the plate 27. In use, the door is slid along the shaft 4 so as to be clear of the vehicle body 3 and then pivoted in its own plane to an open position. The levers are arranged to have an overcentre position in both the closed and open positions. The door is connected to the ring 16 by a plate 17 rivetted to the door, lugs (19) Fig. 8 (not shown) on the plate being attached to trunnions 18 on the ring 16. Rubber pads 20 are placed between the plate 17 and projections 21 on the ring. The shaft 4 is rivetted to a plate 5 connected by means of screws 8 to stress distributing plates 6 rivetted to the vehicle's body. Adjustable stops (43) are provided for lugs (40, 41) of plate 27, Fig. 9 (not shown).
