Abstract

A motor vehicle tailgate arrangement in which an upwardly pivotable tailgate is provided with a counter-balancing device 4 arranged in a concealed housing in the rear roof region of the vehicle. The housing is in the form of a channel section member 5 which is non-detachably secured to the vehicle roof 9. Each hinge 1 for the tailgate is connected to a counter- balancing device which is for example a gas spring, which can be installed together with the hinge.
