Abstract

1505703 Door stays PAUMELLERIE ELECTRIQUE 28 July 1975 [31 July 1974] 31563/75 Heading E2F In a door holding stay or detent device which is connected, in use, between a door post 1 and a door 3, a flat bladed arm 4 is pivotally connected to the door post at 7 and opposite edges of the arm 4 are engaged by wheels or rollers 12, 13 which are mounted on the door, the axis of one wheel or roller 12 being fixed and the other wheel or roller 13 is movable under the action of a spring 28 which presses the wheels or rollers into contact with the arm 4. The arm 4 is provided with at least one detent notch 9, 11 in the edge of the flat bladed arm 4, the movable wheel or roller 13 being mounted on a pivotal member 22 which is pivotally connected to the door post 1 at 21, the pivotal member 22 being directly subject to the action of a spring 28. The pivotal member 22 is pivotally connected to a jawshaped bracket 14 which is attachable to the door 3. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 4- 6 inc., not shown) the arm 4 is provided with intermediate detent notches to allow the door to be engaged by the detent notches at an intermediate point during the opening of the door. In this embodiment a torsion spring is provided instead of the compression spring used in the first embodiment.
