1291505 Anchoring guy ropes; diaphragm walls HELD & FRANCKE BAU AG 27 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 50870/70 Headings E1B and E1H A tie foundation for a pavilion roof comprises a T-section reinforced concrete member A with the head of the T facing the direction from which tensile stress will be applied. Two or three members spaced or abutting may be used in formation. The member is formed by cutting a slit in the ground whilst simultaneously introducing bentonite mud, the slit then being filled from the bottom with concrete which displaces the mud. The side-walls of the slit may be indented by cutters or explosive charges so that the concrete member has integral projections. The guy rope may be attached to the foundation by boring through the ground at an angle.
