Abstract
128,645. British & Colonial Aeroplane Co., and Reid, W. T. Aug. 22, 1917. Valve-gear.-In an engine in which a main driving-shaft X is arranged parallel to and driven from the crank-shaft through toothed gearing GW, secondary shafts 1 - - 5 are disposed transversely to the crank-shaft and are driven therefrom through a pinion SGW, the shafts 2, 3, 4, 5 being geared together as shown in Fig. 1. A pair of magnetos is driven by the ends of the shaft 1, cam shafts by the secondary shaft 2, water-circulating pumps by the shaft 3, and lubricating-pumps by the shaft 5. The shaft 4 is idle.
