Abstract
1,272,517. Fluid coupling. INSTITUT GORNOGO DELA IMENI A.A. SKOCHINSKOGO. 19 June, 1970, No. 29776/70. Heading F2C. A fluid coupling, e.g. providing overload protection for an electric induction motor driving a mining flight conveyer, comprises an impeller 1 and a turbine 2 carrying a baffle disc 9 at its flow exit, the ratio of the working chamber inner diameter D 1 to its outer diameter D2 is in the range of 0À60 to 0À65. An additional reduction of the torque transmitted during overload is provided by a chamber between disc 9 and a disc 12 of the turbine, having a capacity of 10 to 15% of the work chamber, and which is filled with fluid during overload.
