1313432 Fluid coupling POLSKA AKADEMIA NAUK INSTYTUT MASZYN PRZEPLYWOWYCH 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 20395/71 Heading F2C In a fluid coupling comprising a rotor fast with a casing 3 and a second rotor 1 inside the casing, the axial thrust forces in the coupling are balanced internally of the coupling by providing a series of ports 4 in rotor 1 and a labyrinth seal 2 on the rotor 1 defining an annular space S between it and the casing, the total area of ports 4 being slightly greater than the cross-sectional area of space S.
