Abstract

1,245,738. Printing apparatus. DAVID GESSNER CO. 17 March, 1970 [20 March, 1969], No. 12695/70. Heading B6C. A multi-colour design is transferred from a pattern web 16 to a textile or other web 20 by placing the webs together, pre-heating them together, applying the heated combined web to a heated cylinder 32, cooling the webs and separating them. The web 16 may be of paper and the web 20 of cloth. Preferably, the combined webs 16, 20 are pressed against the heated cylinder 32 by an endless apron 30. The tension of the apron 30 can be adjusted and the heating of the cylinder 32 controlled to obtain optimum transfer.
