Abstract

1343927 Printing apparatus HARRICO (OADBY) Ltd 17 May 1972 [22 May 1971] 16512/71 Heading B6C [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for the sublimatic printing of textile fabric 16 comprises a heated roller or drum 10 and a drivable endless blanket 12 for urging the fabric 16 towards the roller or drum 10, the surface of the roller or drum consisting of a polytetrafluoroethylene layer. The heated roller 10 is drivable, freely rotatable or fixed and has a polytetrafluoroethylenecoated glass cloth covering thereon. The roller 10 and the blanket 12 may move at different speeds, the roller 10 slipping with respect to the fabric 16. The fabric 16 may be preheated by passage across a plate 18 as it is withdrawn from a supply 17. A printing web 25 passes from a supply 26 over a heater 28 and between the fabric 16 and the roller 10. The fabric is cooled by air from pipes 22 and wound on package 23 driven by a drum 24. The web 25 is rewound on a package 29 driven by a drum 30.
