Abstract

1518252 Transfer printing LEMAIRE & CIE SA 21 Jan 1977 02528/77 Heading B6C Pile textiles, particularly carpets are printed by bringing a support 20 carrying a sublimable or vaporizable dye pattern into contact with the textile 31 over a convex heated surface 1 with the support 20 being interposed between the surface 1 and the textile 31, the textile being stretched over the surface 1. As shown, roller 23 drives the fabric, and endless band 28 is driven at a slower speed to achieve the stretching. The cylinder 1 may be heated by circulation of hot fluid in pipes within a liquid bath within the cylinder, the feed and return for the fluid being arranged at the same end of the cylinder, and the pipework within the cylinder forming two parallel spirals (Fig. 2, not shown).
