Abstract

1,237,032. Electroless plating with metals. A.E. BERGSTROM. March 13, 1969 [April 5, 1968], No. 13294/69. Heading C7F. In an electroless process for e.g. depositing cobalt on glass, the substrate is made catalytic with a mixture of 50 to 99% gold and 1 to 50% of a platinum group metal, e.g. palladium. The electroless solution may be (g. /1.) 20 COCl 2 , 90 NH 4 Cl, and 5 Na H 2 PO 2 . The substrate is first contacted with dihalogenides of tin, titanium or cobalt.
