Abstract

1327426 Electroless nickel plating SCHERING A G 9 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 43157/70 Heading C7F A plastics surface, e.g. A.B.S. or polypropylene which is first contacted with chromosulphuric acid and an activating solution of e.g. PdCl 2 , either in one or two separate steps, is contacted with a reducing agent e.g. sodium hypophosphite, before contacting with the plating solution which contains the same reducing agent. The plating bath may be (g/l) 30 nickel sulphate, 10 sodium hypophosphite, and 50 citric acid. The temperature of the reducing agent solution and the nickel plating solution is 60 to 70‹ C.
