Abstract

1,187,515. Locks. EATON YALE & TOWNE Inc. 12 March, 1969 [9 April, 1968], No., 17029/68. Heading E2A. The bolt 4 of a pin-tumbler type barrel lock has a pair of laths 5 having staggered slots 9, 9a engaged by separate lobes 11, 12 on a member 13 to provide an increased bolt movement by sequential action on rotation of the member 13. A tumbler 8 has gates 7 accommodating links 6 between the bolt-laths and liftable by the lobes against spring 9 to allow longitudinal passage of the bolt. The member 13 which carries the operating lobes is situated to be operated by lock-plugs on either side of the lock. In the inoperative position shown, one lobe or other engages the heel 16 or 17 of the tumbler to secure it.
