Abstract

1374288 Locks C I S A COSTRUZIONI ITALIANE SERRATURE AFFINI SpA 1 Nov 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 50708/71 Heading E2A A lock comprising a plurality of sliding plate tumblers 13 engageable with a slidable bolt 7 and an anti lock picking device consisting of two shaped plates 22a, 22b each in the same plane as one of the plate tumblers respectively and mounted for pivotal movement, each plate having an extension 24, 25 which is spring urged to engage with an edge of the plate tumbler coplanar with the other plate and with a hook portion 27, 28 which, when one of the extensions is disengaged from the edge, engages with the coplanar plate tumbler under the action of a spring 26 and thereby presents release of the bolt. Each plate tumbler has a rectangular slot with teeth 19, 20 projecting therein, the distance between the ends of the teeth allows the passage of a pin member 12 on the bolt to pass when a key turned in a slot 17 in a housing 1 raises the plate tumblers a respective predetermined distance. The movement of the plate tumblers is guided by bushes 5 on the housing 1 engaging in elongated slots in the tumblers and the tumblers are each moved against the action of a spring 21. The bolt is guided in its movement by a pin 11 on the housing engaging in a slot 10 in an extension 8 of the bolt. The bolt has a series of teeth 9 which are engaged by the key in succession to withdraw or project the bolt at every half turn of the key the pin 12 engages in the succeeding slot between the teeth 19.
