Abstract

1,147,861. Two-part couplings. ASHLEY ACCESSORIES Ltd. 22 Nov., 1967 [24 Jan., 1967], No. 3504/67. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises moulded, insulating body and cap portions 10, 11; the cap portion 11 housing a cord grip consisting of a clamp 23, one or two screws 25 and a base 24 having a forwardly-extending bridge 26 leading to a tapered spigot 27, which mate respectively with a groove 22 and a socket 20 in a rearward extension of the body portion 10 to anchor the cord grip when the cable 28 is inserted between clamp 23 and base 24. The socket contacts such as 13 have terminals 14 and 17 to which lead wires are connected by screws (not shown) parallel to screw(s) 25, while a screw 19 connects portions 10 and 11.
