Abstract

1354916 Two part coupling, terminals SOC D'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES MARECHAL 3 Aug 1971 [4 Aug 1970 30 March 1971] 36488/71 Heading H2E A terminal for receiving the end of a deformable conductor comprises a tubular casing 2 having an external flattened portion 3 through which extends an opening 4. A clamping screw 5, co-operating with an external nut 6 held against the casing 2 by a resilient steel ring 7, passes freely through the opening 4 and has a head portion 13 for clamping the conductor, the head portion 13 being capable of passing through the opening 4. When the screw 5 is turned to clamp a conductor, the nut 6 is forced outwardly against the spring and a resilient clamping of the conductor is achieved. To enable two conductors to be interconnected the body 1 may be formed with such a terminal at each end or with one such terminal and a crimping sleeve; the latter arrangement is described in relation to a spring loaded socket arrangement (Figs. 4-7, not shown).
