967,630. Two-part couplings. J. & S. ENGINEERS Ltd. Oct. 16, 1962 [Oct. 20, 1961], No. 37689/61. Heading H2E. [Also in Division F2] The plug-and-socket elements of a connector are moulded from nylon plastic, and carry bladelike contacts, 104, 105. The upper part of the plug housing 113, has a blind bore 115 in it which connects to a larger diameter screwthreaded bore, 116, above the knurled head of contact 104. The bore 116 carries an insulated grub-screw, 120, which has a metal insert, 121, which is free to rotate at its lower end. The bared ends of a conductor, inserted in the bore 115, are gripped between the metal insert, 121, and the knurled head of the contact when the grub-screw is tightened. The socket, 102, is inserted into the metal plate, 103, by hydrostatic pressure which shears a piece out of the metal and replaces it by the socket. The Specification also describes how the connector may be adapted to provide a plurality of circuit connections, Figs. 5A and 5B (not shown). Specification 931,875 is referred to.
