Abstract

1,120,612. Hydrofoil craft. SEAGLIDER Ltd. 14 Sept., 1965 [14 Sept., 1964], No. 37529/64. Headings B7A and B7V. In a trimaran hydrofoil craft struts 32 mounted on hulls 12, one on each side of central hull 11, and rear strut 18 mounted on central hull 11, pivot about horizontal axes, holding means releasably holding the struts in their extended positions, hydrofoils 33 and 19 are carried respectively by the struts, control means vary the angle of incidence of the hydrofoils and parallel motion linkage enables the pilot of the craft to maintain the angle of incidence of the hydrofoils at the angle set by the control means. Struts 32 are allowed to be moved by jack 86, and rear strut 18 separately moved from collar 25, about their respective pivot axes from the operative position to a retracted position. The rear strut can also be raised and lowered in a vertical direction. Means of propulsion for the craft are housed in the rear hydrofoil 19.
