1,179,881. Hydrofoil craft. SUPRAMAR A.G. 24 April, 1967, No. 18822/67. Heading B7A. A tiltable hydrofoil arrangement on a watercraft comprises at least one pair of hydrofoils, one hydrofoil of the or each pair being mounted on opposite sides of the hull 1, each hydrofoil being connected to the hull by means of a strut such as 6, 6a which is mounted at its upper end to the hull by means of a tilt bearing 3 or 3a, the axis of the tilt bearing being angled relative to the control line of the strut such that the acute angle is in the range from 30 to 70 degrees and being disposed in a vertical plane parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hull. In the embodiment described each hydrofoil 2, 2a is pivotally connected to the lower end of its associated strut so as to be pivotable about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hull.
