A fastening for a casement window comprises a metal plate A with countersunk holes as in Fig. 2, a threaded bolt D, check nut E and wing nut 9. The fastener is secured to the sill I of a window frame by screws F and a holed tie bar J is held in position on the bolt D by the wing nut G.
