Abstract
1,105,391. Gun cartridge chamber. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES S.A. 29 June, 1966 [9 July, 1965], No. 29238/66. Heading F3C. [Also in Division B3] In a gun cartridge chamber 1, the inner wall is provided with at least one recess into which can flow the burnt powder gases. In the case of an automatic gun of 20 mm. calibre, the recesses may be 0À5 mm. deep by 1 mm. wide. The recesses end at a distance of 35 mm. ahead of the rear end of the cartridge case and start at the front, downstream of the front edge of the cartridge ease 3, in each case forming a wall (6) at right angles to the gun axis, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). The recesses may be of constant width, tapered in width over a part of their length or stepped in width.
