Abstract

1,081,187. Piston rings; seals. BRISTOL SIDDELEY ENGINES Ltd. June 10, 1966 [June 11, 1965]. No. 24702/65. Headings F2B and F2T. In a sealing ring for a sleeve valve or other piston engine or pump and comprising two similar superimposed split-ring members 10, 11, the end portions of each member co-operate to form a circumferential recess and each member has a bridge-piece 14 that fits into the recess of the other member. The recess is formed by projections 12 on the end portion of the member. In a modification (Figs. 4 and 5), opposing surfaces of the bridge-piece (17) and the end projections (16) are curved.
