995,888. Rotary-piston engines. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT DEUTZ A.G. Aug. 2, 1962, No. 29721/62. Heading F1F. In a rotary-piston internal combustion engine of the trochoidal n and n+l lobe type a rotatable, or stationary, housing for the piston 14 (Fig. 3) comprises a peripheral wall 16 having a liner 15 which is free to expand in an axial direction, a gap between the liner and a side wall 20 of the housing being filled by a resilient or yieldable member 19 made of e.g. a heat resisting elastomer such as synthetic rubber or P.T.F.E. The liner is supported by fins 18 and engages with sealing rings 23. As shown in Fig. 4, the liner 21 may have a flange or collar 22 at one end which is clamped between the peripheral wall and an adjacent side wall of the housing.
