Abstract

1,068,470. Calendar watches. UNITED STATES TIME CORPORATION. Aug. 25, 1965 [Aug. 25, 1964], No. 36577/65. Heading G3T. A calendar watch comprises a date ring 25 having the figures 1 to 31 printed therearound and at least one printed mark 26 or 70 in each gap between the figures to indicate am. or pm., and only one figure being exposed through a window 22 in the watch dial 20. The date ring 25 has inner circumferential teeth by which it is advanced clockwise at noon and at midnight by a toothed lever 35 controlled by a cam 30 driven from the wheels of the watch. At noon the cam 30 permits the lever 35 to be moved clockwise by a spring 55 so that a lever tooth 47 engages a tooth 68 of the date ring 25 to rotate the ring until the lever 35 is halted by a stop 49. The same date remains visible in the window 22 but the mark 26 indicating am. disappears beneath the dial 20 and a mark 70 indicating pm. appears. At midnight a similar actuation of the lever 35 occurs except that the vent tooth 69 of the date ring 25 is engaged between teeth 46, 47 of the lever 35 whereby the ring 25 is rotated to expose the next date figure together with a mark indicating am.
