1,064,009. Practice ammunition. H. J. DIEDERICKS, [trading as NICO - PYROTECHNIK HANS-JURGEN DIEDERICKS KOMM.-GES.]. April 13, 1965, No. 15744/65. Heading F3A. A practice round for use in sub-calibre barrels comprises a case 2 and a two-part projectile 3, 4. The case is made of light metal or light metal alloy e.g. pure aluminium or aluminium-magnesium alloy and has an upset flange 13, gripped between the parts 3, 4, which is sheared on the round being fired. The rear part 4 of the projectile bears against an obturator 5 of light metal, which seals the gases from a propellent charge 7, when the charge is ignited by a percussion cap 8. Part 4, which is metal, is bored to house a pyrotechnic charge 9 ignited upon impact by mechanism 10.
