Abstract

1,059,931. Edge-runner mills. H. MITCHELL and L. MITCHELL. Jan. 27, 1965 [Jan. 31, 1964], No. 4120/64. Heading B2A. In an edge-runner mill comprising rollers 8 co-operating with a rotary pan 6, the pan is substantially wholly supported by a cross-roll type annular thrust bearing 7. The pan is rotated by means of a spur ring 15 engaging a pinion 16 on a countershaft 17 which is driven by means of belt and pulley gearing 18 from an electric motor 20. The pan comprises an imperforate floor ring 12 and a perforated ring 13. Ground material is discharged through bottom of casing 1 on to a pair of endless belt conveyers 5. The casing is provided with plates 4 which are swept by a pair of scrapers 22. The rollers 8 are rotatably mounted in bearings 9 on the free ends of a pair of bifurcated brackets 10 pivotally mounted on cross beams 11.
