Abstract
988,863. Roller mills. B. M. BEARDO. Sept. 4, 1961 [Sept. 24, 1960], No. 31698/61. Heading B2A. A roller mill comprises a casing C housing a central crushing roller A and a set of planetary crushing rollers P, means for rotating the rollers A, P about their respective axes, means for rotating the rollers P about the shaft A 1 of the roller A and for rotating the casing about the rollers, and means inside the casing for feeding material to be crushed to the rollers A, P. The shaft A 1 is driven from motor M, Fig. 5, by means of a belt passing round pulleys A 3 , M 1 . A pinion B on shaft A 1 engages pinions P 2 on the shafts P 1 of rollers P. The shafts P 1 are mounted in slots S 1 of the arms of spiders S provided one at each end of the shaft A 1 . The spider arms are secured to the respective side walls C3 of the casing C which is driven from the motor M by means of gears H, H 1 , a lay shaft F and a belt E 1 passing round pulleys E, E 2 . Part of the peripheral wall C 1 of the casing is made removable to form an opening for charging material to be crushed to the mill, the material being conveyed to the crushing rollers by means of blades D on the inside of the wall C 1 . The casing may be perforated in which case it is surrounded by a cover having an outlet and a tray T for receiving crushed material.
