Abstract

1,048,005. Knitting. VICTORIA MANUFACTURING CO. (HOSIERY) Ltd. and J. PEGG. Aug. 2, 1963 [Aug. 3, 1962], No. 29837/62. Headings D1C and D1K. Colour or relief, patterned plush fabric is produced on a multifeed circular latch needle knitting machine in which the sinkers 4 are controlled by rotary pattern control devices 5 driven in synchronism with the sinkers which have butts at the same levels as the pattern bits 10 on the control devices there being at least as many butt levels on the sinkers as there are pattern bit levels on the control devices. As shown, yarn from an overhead yarn guide structure is fed from thirtytwo feeders 3. The sinkers all have a low comparatively wide butt 4a, Fig. 5 (not shown) and pattern butts at selected levels a to g. Each device 5 comprises a spindle 7 with a toothed driving wheel 8 engaging and driven by butts 4<SP>a</SP> and a number of pattern wheels or discs 9 carrying the pattern bits 10 at the same levels a to g as selected.
