Abstract

1,024,827. Travelling-wave tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 14, 1963, No. 19043/63. Addition to 906,206. Heading H1D. A slow-wave structure of the type described and claimed in the parent Specification has a conductive ridge symmetrically disposed between the two side walls and electrically connected with them, extending along the slowwave structure in proximity to one side of the grating so as to modify the electromagnetic field of the grating. In modifications, a pair of ridges may be disposed one on each side of the grating, or two gratings provided, each parallel to one another and a conductive ridge disposed close to each grating. A tapered waveguide coupling structure of the type described in Specification 1,024,828 may be used.
