Abstract

1,017,010. Knitting-machines; textile treating apparatus. D. FRISHMAN. Feb.14, 1964 [Feb.19, 1963], No. 6361/64. Headings D1C and D1L. A knitting machine particularly a circular machine has apparatus 10 positioned beneath the needle circle which applies a coating to the fabric as it is withdrawn from the needles. For this purpose a roller 11 is provided and is reliliently urged into contact with the fabric so as to apply the coating material to it as it rotates. The coating material is supplied to the roller through a tube 33 from a pump 32. The invention is particularly suitable for machines producing a pile fabric whereby a uniform back coating can be applied to the fabric as it is produced.
