Abstract

874,717. Knitting-machines. HOBOURNF.N.F. Ltd. April 4, 1960 [April 14, 1959], No. 12667/59. Class 74 (2). Rollers 5 or 10 are positioned between the sinkers of a warp machine to guide the fabric and assist the knocking over of the loops. The rings are of hardened steel or of a ceramic material to prevent the yarns from cutting into them, and are adapted to rotate about a rod 4 which positions the ends of all of the sinkers. In the case of the rings 5, they are engaged by the backs of the needles during the knocking over motion such that they are rotated and swung upwardly about the rod 4 so as to raise the fabric passing over them to the take-up rollers and thereby further assist the knocking over of the loops.
