1320024 Knitting-machines; openers BUNKER-RAMO CORP 8 Sept 1970 [9 Sept 1969] 43016/70 Headings D1C and D1N A high-pile knitting machine includes carding apparatus comprising a rotatable carding drum 80, and a fibre delivery belt 130, having a section conforming to the drum. The peripheral speed of the drum is greater than the linear speed of the belt, so that the fibres are combed before being taken by the needles 20. The belt is driven by a roller 150, which cooperates with a pressure roller 180; its tension is set by an adjusting roller 140.
