Abstract

1,016,704. Bearings. BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. June 27, 1963 [June 27, 1962], No. 24687/62. Heading F2A. A fluid bearing for guiding and supporting moving strip material 11, comprises a member 12 having a perforated surface 13 from which fluid discharge takes place, which is mounted for displacement in at least one plane transverse to the path of movement of the strip by a fulcrum pin 16. The strip passes edge guide rollers 14 before performing a 180 degree change-in-direction over the bearing. The bearing may be mounted for universal movement.
