Abstract
Description
The most economical way to store bulk materials is to form a conical heap according to their natural slope which is fed from the top and from which the samples are taken from the bottom. In the case of materials which must be protected from the weather, a conical volume covered by these materials is covered, and a polar silo is obtained.
Until now, the coverage of polar silos was carried out either by radiant beams, either completely prefabricated with a span of about 30 m, or by radiant beams cast in place or assembled in pieces, all associated with secondary elements of blanket. We also used arch elements, consisting of truncated cones mounted in advance on a more or less general hanger.
These different techniques presented production difficulties linked to the height of the structures and their scope, and they quickly became very expensive. The cone trunks cast in place could only have small dimensions and were therefore little or not used for large spans. In addition, the solutions using the reconstitution of the hulls were very little adapted to the problem posed by temperature variations. Also for silos intended for hot materials, the metal frame was used, but this posed problems of price and maintenance in the case of large spans.
The object of the invention is to remedy the technical and economic disadvantages of producing polar silos in the event that the volumes stored are large.
To this end, the invention relates to a polar or other silo cover, conical, frustoconical or of another configuration, characterized in that it comprises a set of shrouds each being slightly stretched between an upper fixed point and a fixed point lower, the shrouds supporting one or more continuous or discontinuous cover elements.
This cover can also have one or more of the following characteristics
a) The shrouds are fixed by anchoring at their upper part in at least one mast-forming element and at their lower part by anchoring in a belt at ground level or above it.
The covering elements consist of prefabricated elements fixed to the shrouds being independent of each other in order to allow expansion.
The covering elements consist of prefabricated elements fixed to the shrouds by overlapping each other and forming a shell.
The cover is made up of at least one concrete shell, the formwork of which is supported by the shrouds, which allow more economical support than in all existing solutions for large spans.
e) Des moyens sont prévus pour régler la tension des haubans dans le cas de stockage de produits à température élevée et/ou variable. e) Means are provided for adjusting the tension of the shrouds in the case of storage of products at high and / or variable temperature.
La Fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'une couverture de silo polaire suivant l'invention;
La Fig. 2 est une vue schématique partielle d'un mode de réalisation du montage des éléments de couverture;
In order to better understand the invention, several embodiments given by way of example which are in no way limitative will be described below with reference to the appended drawings in which
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a polar silo cover according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a partial schematic view of an embodiment of the mounting of the cover elements;
Fig. 3 is a similar view with partial section of a mounting variant of these elements; and
Fig. 4 is a partial schematic view of a polar silo cover used to make a shell serving as a cover.
In Fig. 1 we see in perspective the cover 1 of a conical polar silo according to the invention.
The framework of this polar silo consists essentially of slightly tensioned guy wires 2, arranged roughly along the generatrices of a truncated cone, and anchored on the one hand on a crown 3 mounted on a vertical cylindrical mast 4 placed in the 'axis of the ensiled material, and on the other hand on a belt 5 placed on a circular wall 6 or else located at ground level.
Wall 6 increases the capacity of the silo for a given surface area.
The mast is here a hollow tubular concrete tower which fulfills two functions. It is used to anchor the stay cables at their upper part on the crown 3 and it also serves as a silo.
This silo receives in a hopper 7 the material which arrives by a conveyor 8. The tower rests on a solid foundation represented schematically at 9. We see very schematically in 10 the sloping and in 11 the exit of the materials stored in the tower.
On the shrouds 2 are mounted the cover elements 12 and there are shown three embodiments of the assembly of the latter.
Fig. 2 shows a side view of the prefabricated cover elements 12 mounted on the shrouds. These elements can be steel, reinforced concrete, fiberglass concrete or any other material.
The elements can be fixed to the shrouds 2 independently of one another by bolts 13 and nuts 14, as shown in FIG. 2, the junctions in the direction of the slope being made by overlapping, which ensures sealing and can allow expansion. Another mounting method with slightly different elements, is shown in FIG. 3, the elements 15 fitting into each other, being placed starting from the base. They each rest on the one hand on the lower element, on the other hand on the stay. In this d-ernier embodiment, the shrouds deforming as one goes up the roof, it creates an effect of vault in the elements placed previously, as soon as the games are absorbed, which relieves the subsequent solicitation of the shrouds.
In the two cases above, joint cover elements can improve sealing.
Finally, FIG. 4 shows another embodiment, in which a grating or trellis 16 has been fixed on the shrouds 2 at 17. Here we also start from the base and as the concreting progresses 18 a shell is created which can be freestanding. The cover according to the invention serves as support and formwork, which is more economical than all the solutions currently existing for large spans.
In all the above-mentioned cases, it is of course possible to add a complementary seal. On the other hand, in the case of storage of products at high or variable temperature, the shrouds are mounted on known devices in order to adjust the tension taking account of the expansions.
The blanket according to the invention has many advantages. It makes it possible to overcome the current limitations of the range of roofs in traditional construction of metal, wooden or concrete frames, and it is of a very reduced cost of implementation.
It is suitable for temperature variations which can result from the storage of materials which are still hot. A prior adjustment of the tension of the shrouds, by means of known devices, makes it possible to limit the deformations between the extreme temperature variations.
Finally, the shrouds improve the wind stability of the central tower which carries the arrival of the silo supply system.
Of course, the embodiments described above and represented in the drawings are given only by way of simple nonlimiting examples and it goes without saying that the shape, the arrangement can be modified in any suitable manner, the nature, and the mounting of their elements without, for this, departing from the scope of the invention.
It is also clear that the invention also relates to constructions other than conical or frusto-conical silos, for which the same covering mode, the same mode of support and temporary formwork of a concrete surface can be used.
