Abstract

Procédé de préparation d'octafluoropropane à partir d'hexafluoropropène. On fait réagir, dans une première étape, l'hexafluoropropène avec du fluorure d'hydrogène, à des températures de 100 à 350 degrés C, en présence d'un catalyseur d'oxyfluorure de chrome 3, pour former le 2H-heptafluoropropane, puis, dans une seconde étape, on fait réagir le gaz réactionnel obtenu, à des températures de 100 à 350 degrés C, en présence d'un catalyseur 6 contenant un élément de sous-groupes du tableau periodique sous la forme de fluorure ou de métal, avec du fluor élémentaire pour obtenir l'octafluoropropane, et on sépare de celui-ci le fluorure d'hydrogène formé. L'octafluoropropane a de nombreuses applications : milieu réactionnel inerte, diélectrique, propulseur, liquide caloporteur, etc.
