Abstract

The water-driven turbo-generator unit has a vertical main shaft (4) carrying the turbine rotor (2), the flywheel (7), the generator (3), the oil pump (11) and the tachometer (12) used in the control of the power output or turbine speed. The oil pump may be arranged above the generator and the oil container may be arranged on the top of the generator. This container may be provided with external cooling fins (10) and surrounded by a shroud (8) through which cool-air is drawn in. A control panel (13) may be arranged on the generator housing. The entire assembly may be supported by feet provided on the turbine housing, which may be cast on or formed as hollow sheet metal components.
