Abstract
The hydroelectric generator has two water reservoirs one above the turbine blades and one below. Water is pumped from the lower reservoir to the upper reservoir. Water flows from the upper reservoir (1) through the turbine blades to the lower reservoir (8). The pump (7) is driven by the turbine blades (3) and is coupled to them by a transmission belt (4-6). The electrical generator (12) is likewise coupled to the turbine blades via a belt transmission (10, 11). Alternatively two sets of turbine blades may be employed one above the other. The upper set drives the electrical generator and the lower set drives the pump. The water flows through the upper set into the lower set of blades.
