Abstract
The machine has a central cylindrical vessel open at one end and closed at the other attached to a shaft free to rotate in supporting bearings. The cylindrical vessel has a number of radial tubes projecting from it each of which is turned over at its end to terminate in an open end perpendicular to the axis. Fluid at a high velocity is injected into the cylinder from its open end. It is broken up into several smaller streams each of which is guided by one of the radial passages and ejected tangentially from the end of the passage. The reaction of the fluid on the body of the machine produces rotary and axial movement with a high efficiency of conversion.
