Abstract

The drive head is for tube conveyors with conveyor spirals. The drive head contains a flange with a continuous cylindrical bore, centred and fixed to the end of a cylindrical casing which contains a spiral so that the axis of the bore coincides with the axis of rotation of the spiral. A support is connected with the flange on the side and is opposite to the side of the flange fixed to the casing so that a chamber of cylindrical symmetry is formed and arranged coaxial with the cylindrical bore. A trunnion lies partly inside the chamber and is held coaxially by bearings so that the end in the chamber is connected with the rotation by a movable system. The other end of the trunnion is connected with the rotation by the end of the spiral. There is a planetary reduction gear -box inside the chamber.
