Abstract

The process is particularly for the production of sandals comprising merely a sole and a strap passing over the front of the foot. The sole and strap are formed by a single piece cut out of a sheet of flexible material. The strap can comprise two sections integral with the sole, one having a slot in it and the other a locking tongue engaging in the slot. The material can be of laminated construction, having a core of foam rubber or plastic contained between two layers of thin plastic or rubber. Pre-folding lines can be formed along the joins between sole and strap sections.
