Abstract

The hopper is towed by a tractor and used to feed high volume fertiliser spreaders. Large capacity reduces time spent in reloading. The chassis (1) has two rear wheels (3) and a front castor wheel (5) for hand manoeuvring. A spreader (10) is attached (9), using standard three point mounting, to a rigid assembly of uprights (6) and braces (8) at the rear and is driven from the power take off (11). The hopper (15) pivots (14) between the uprights and tilts horizontal to vertical using rams (19) operated from the tractor's hydraulic system whenever the spreader needs refilling. A control rod (13) works the shutter from the driver's seat.
