Abstract

Perfeccionamientos introducidos en un método de preparar un catalizador adecuado para, simultáneamente, oxidar hidrocarburos gaseosos y monóxido de carbono y reducir óxidos de nitrógeno, que comprende: un soporte de alúmina, un componente metálico del grupo del platino, siendo dicho componente metálico del grupo del platino y un metal seleccionado del grupo consistente en rodio, rutenio, paladio e iridio o mezclas o aleaciones de los mismos, y un componente de base de óxido metálico, estando seleccionado dicho óxido metálico de base entre el grupo consistente en óxidos de hierro, cobalto, níquel, cromo, tungsteno, cinc, cobre, manganeso y renio y mezclas de los mismos, estando presente dicho óxido metálico de base en una cantidad sustancialmente mayor que dicho metal del grupo del platino, caracterizados dichos perfeccionamientos por combinar primero dicho componente metálico del grupo del platino y dicho óxido metálico de base con dicha alúmina, y depositar el compuesto resultante sobre unportador.
