Description

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a fibrous substrate window.

ARRIERE-PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUEBACKGROUND

It is known from the document EP1567713 a method for producing a fibrous substrate, wherein a round shape with embossings is used. A variable width ribbon with wide exposed portions connected by narrow bridge portions is brought into tangency with the round shape so that the wide portions of the ribbon come into contact with the embossings. The embossings are thus sealed by the wide parts, so that the fibrous paste that accumulates on the whole of the round shape by suction through the round shape does not accumulate at the level of the embossings, which allows to make the wide portions of the ribbon visible from the side of the forming sheet turned towards the round shape. On the other side, the width of the wide portions of the ribbon prevents the fibers from accumulating at these wide portions, so that they also remain visible on the other side of the sheet. As for the narrow parts, they are covered on the one hand by fibers interfering between the ribbon and the round shape, and on the other hand by fibers covering the narrow parts, so that they are integrated into the thickness of the leaf.

This method has the disadvantage that the efficiency of the process depends on the sealing of the embossings by contacting the wide portions of the ribbon with the embossings, which is not easy to achieve, and which requires a very fine synchronization. To ensure good contact, it is also advisable to bring the ribbon into contact with the round shape before the embossing enters the fiber bath, to prevent fibers from interfering between the embossing and the wide part facing, risking to seal faulty. What is more, such a method involves using an impermeable tape.

It is also known from the document FR-2,898,365 a method for producing a fibrous substrate having transparent windows, wherein a round shape is provided with nonporous relief masks to which are applied transparent film segments having dimensions greater than those of the masks and connected to one another by sections of tape to be trapped in the forming fibrous layer. Here again there is the presence of embossing in relief on the round shape, embossings whose disadvantages have been mentioned above.

OBJET DE L'INVENTIONOBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The subject of the invention is a process for manufacturing a fibrous substrate with a window, making it possible to obviate the abovementioned disadvantages.

BREVE DESCRIPTION DE L'INVENTIONBRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

  • faire défiler une surface support mobile comportant des zones imperméabilisées peu ou pas saillantes de ladite surface mobile dans un bain de solution fibreuse, et provoquer un agglutinement des fibres sur la surface support mobile ;
  • rapporter à proximité de la surface support mobile un ruban comportant des parties exposées et des parties de pont de sorte que les parties exposées soient sensiblement en regard des zones imperméabilisées de la surface support mobile, le ruban étant introduit à proximité de la surface mobile dans le bain, sous la surface libre de celui-ci, à un endroit pour lequel des fibres se sont déjà accumulées sur la surface du support mobile ;
In order to achieve this goal, a method of manufacturing a fibrous substrate having windows comprising the steps of:
  • scrolling a movable support surface having impervious areas of little or no protrusion from said moving surface in a bath of fibrous solution, and causing the fibers to agglutinate on the movable support surface;
  • bringing a ribbon having exposed portions and bridge portions near the movable support surface so that the exposed portions are substantially facing the impervious areas of the movable support surface, the tape being introduced near the moving surface in the bath, beneath the free surface thereof, at a location for which fibers have already accumulated on the surface of the movable support;
  • continue to agglutinate the fibers so that the fibers accumulate on the bridge portions and on an outline of the exposed portions.

Thus, the areas of the movable support surface are already waterproofed so that their effectiveness does not depend on an intimate contact between the ribbon and the movable support surface. Thus, the fibers accumulate on the moving support surface except, of course, in the impregnated zones. The ribbon is then introduced near the movable support surface in the bath, while fibers are already deposited on the movable support surface. The bridge portions of the ribbon then rest on the fibers already deposited, while the exposed parts are facing impervious zones. The fibers then continue to settle to cover the bridge portions of the ribbon, the fibers not settling on the exposed portions except on a contour thereof. A fibrous substrate with windows is thus obtained.

The invention thus makes it possible to use a movable support surface (generally of round shape) which is devoid of relief, and which is therefore easier to manufacture.

It is also noted that with the invention, which recommends impervious zones with little or no protrusion, the thickness of the fibrous substrate is no longer defined and conditioned by the height of the embossings in relief, but by the choice of the area of the bath of fibrous solution into which the ribbon is introduced.

DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE DE L'INVENTIONDETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference to the figure 1 , the ribbon 1 illustrated here is a transparent film, for example polyester, has narrow bridge portions 2 connecting wide exposed portions 3, intended to form the transparent portion of a window of the fibrous substrate. Any other type of ribbon can be used, transparent or not.

According to a first embodiment, and with reference to the figure 2 the fibrous substrate is produced by means of a round shape 11 consisting of a porous web generally of a metallic nature, rolled into a cylinder, the round shape rotating in a bath 12 filled with cellulosic fibers in aqueous solution.

The round shape 11 comprises impregnated zones 12, corresponding to the windows of the forming substrate. These zones 12 can be waterproofed in various ways. For example, it may be coated with clogging product, such as glue or resin, the areas in question.

As detailed in figure 3 the deposition of the clogging product can be done using stencils (not shown) of appropriate contour. The clogging product is deposited on the surface of the round shape 11, but it penetrates at least superficially, in the thickness of the porous fabric of the form 11. The waterproofed zones 12 are represented by a thick black line. It will be noted that these impregnated zones 12 do not protrude, little or very little, from the remainder of the round shape 11: at most, they project from the height h of the stencil, when this deposition technique is retained. As indicated above, the clogging product impregnates at least a portion of the thickness of the porous fabric 11, and its amount is adjusted so that it comes to cover the fabric so as to be not or slightly projecting relative to the rest of the surface of the round form 11.

The round shape 11 is rotated along its axis, and a natural depression between the outside and the inside of the round shape 11 causes the agglutination of fibers against the round-shaped fabric, except of course at the level of the zones. waterproofed 12.

The ribbon 1 is brought near the round shape 11 directly into the bath, here at the mark A, under the free surface of the latter, after the fibers have started to agglutinate against the round shape 11, and in particular 12. The narrow portions of the ribbon 1 thus rest on the fibers already agglutinated between the waterproofed zones 12. The wide portions are facing the sealed areas 12, without touching them, except fortuitously. In any case, the contact is not necessary and is not sought. The wide portions slightly protrude from the impervious zones 12 so that their outline also rests on already deposited fibers.

Then the fibers continue to agglomerate on the round shape 11, to cover the narrow portions of the ribbon 1. But the fibers do not agglutinate on the broad parts of the ribbon 1, except on the contour of the latter. The fibrous substrate thus produced is recovered by a scrubbing cloth 20. It comprises windows by which wide portions of the ribbon 1 are visible on both sides of the substrate.

A method of obtaining the waterproofed zones using a sealing agent of the glue / resin type according to the first embodiment consists in coating the entire fabric of the surface 11 'with a photoresist which is irradiated with the radiation. suitable through a film having openings corresponding to the contours of waterproofed areas that is desired. After exposure, the film is removed, the areas that have been exposed to the radiation have cured, while the areas hidden by the film can be easily removed, usually by rinsing with water.

A second embodiment of the invention is shown in Figures 4 and 5 according to two variants, which have in common that the movable support surface 11 'is a round shape made of porous fabric which this time has embossings in hollow 13 on the surface of said surface 11': the waterproofed zones are then formed by materials 14a, 14b filling these hollow embossings 13.

According to the variant of the figure 4 the material filling the embossings consists of inserts. They are here metallic, but can alternatively be made of plastic material. In this variant, the plates 14a are welded in the hollow embossings 13, which are also of a metallic nature. But alternatively, they can be glued or sewn into the embossing, or secured to embossing by any other appropriate means.

These plates 14a have a contour substantially complementary to that of the embossings 13, and are of a thickness such that they come, once reported, flush with the rest of the surface of the round shape 11, or, at the very least, be slightly protruding from it (without excluding the case where they are, conversely, slightly below the rest of the surface of the round shape. But as in the first embodiment, it is intended to obtain impregnated areas not or slightly protruding. And as in the previous embodiment, these waterproofed zones are not intended to come into contact with the ribbon 1. It may be noted that a certain tolerance can be allowed in the relative dimensioning and the relative positioning between the hollow embossings and the inserts, as long as the plates can be inserted and fixed to the embossings, which is, industrially, advantageous.

According to the variant of the figure 5 the materials 14b filling hollow embossings are based on clogging product resin. As in the first mode which also used a clogging material, it will impregnate at least part of the surface of the porous round shape 11 'at its embossings 13. The amount of resin is chosen for the resin to come flush with the surface 11 'in the vicinity of the embossings, knowing that it may also be slightly protruding or slightly recessed relative to said surface. The resin is advantageously chosen so that it can be cast in the embossings and then air dried. It can also be chosen photosensitive, so that it hardens / dries under the effect of radiation, ultraviolet or infrared, for example.

Les avantages de l'invention sont nombreux :

  • étant donné que l'étanchéité des zones imperméables n'est plus assurée par le ruban lui-même, il devient possible d'utiliser des rubans perforés ;
  • le contour des fenêtres n'est plus dicté au moins sur l'un des côtés par le flanc d'un embossage, et est donc plus progressif, assurant ainsi une meilleure cohésion entre le ruban est le substrat fibreux ;
  • la synchronisation entre la forme ronde et le déroulement du ruban peut être moins précise, puisqu'il suffit que les parties larges du ruban soient globalement en regard des zones imperméabilisées. Un écart est admissible, alors que dans le procédé de l'état de la technique, un écart aurait préjudicié à l'étanchéité de l'embossage ;
  • le ruban pénètre dans le bain, avant d'être intégré dans le substrat. Il est ainsi mouillé de part et d'autre, ce qui favorise la tenue des fibres sur le ruban, en particulier quand le ruban est avantageusement revêtu d'un agent d'adhésion activé par l'eau du bain ;
  • l'épaisseur à laquelle le ruban est inséré dans le substrat fibreux n'est plus dictée par la hauteur des embossages, mais uniquement par l'endroit d'introduction du ruban vis-à-vis de la forme ronde ;
The advantages of the invention are numerous:
  • since the tightness of the impermeable zones is no longer ensured by the ribbon itself, it becomes possible to use perforated ribbons;
  • the outline of the windows is no longer dictated at least on one side by the side of an embossing, and is therefore more progressive, thus ensuring better cohesion between the ribbon is the fibrous substrate;
  • the synchronization between the round shape and the unwinding of the ribbon may be less precise, since it is sufficient for the wide parts of the ribbon to be generally facing the impregnated zones. A deviation is permissible, whereas in the prior art method, a gap would have prejudiced the sealing of the embossing;
  • the ribbon enters the bath, before being integrated into the substrate. It is thus wet on both sides, which promotes the holding of the fibers on the ribbon, in particular when the ribbon is advantageously coated with an adhesion agent activated by the bath water;
  • the thickness at which the ribbon is inserted into the fibrous substrate is no longer dictated by the height of the embossings, but only by the place of introduction of the ribbon vis-à-vis the round shape;
  • the agglutination of fibers between the zones impregnated prior to the introduction of the ribbon makes it possible to produce a homogeneous layer of constant thickness and leads to a great cohesion of the fibers deposited against the round shape before introduction of the ribbon. In the process of the aforementioned prior art, the tape is in place before the deposition of the fibers, and they must make their way under the narrow parts of the ribbon, that is to say in a thin thickness, this which can lead to weak fiber agglomerations in these areas.
  • Finally, and this is a very significant advantage as well, the scrubbing cloth 20 generally exerts a certain pressure on the round paper-shape assembly at the connection between these three elements, in order to facilitate the transfer of the paper of a canvas (that of the round shape) towards the other (the awning 20). But this pressure can, when there are elements in relief on the round shape, risk marking the tarpaulin, or risk to collapse the reliefs when they are in the form of embossings, which may lead to having to provide on the round form reinforcements for them. With little or no salient elements according to the invention, this risk and this need for mechanical reinforcement are eliminated.

The invention is not limited to what has just been described, but on the contrary covers any variant within the scope defined by the claims.

In particular, although the movable support surface is here a round shape, it will of course be possible to use any other type of moving surface, such as a flat canvas moving in a bath.

In addition, although the invention has been described here as using a ribbon with wide parts and narrow parts, it will more generally be possible to use a ribbon comprising exposed portions intended to remain visible in the windows, connected by bridge portions. . Here, the bridge portions are narrower than the exposed portions, to allow their overlap by fibers. But the bridge portions may be of the same width as the exposed parts, being perforated, so as to allow the accumulation of fibers over the bridge parts.
